According to MathWorks, MATLAB is a programming and numeric computing platform used by millions of engineers and scientists to analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models. Simulink is a block diagram environment used to design systems with multidomain models, simulate before moving to hardware, and deploy without writing code. By using both in conjunction, users can fully utilize the programming and computing power of MATLAB with the design and simulation savvy of Simulink.

Downloading and Installing MATLAB

Stevens students and faculty have access to MATLAB and Simulink through the university's MATLAB and Simulink Campus-Wide License. The link to the Stevens MathWorks page to access MATLAB is shown below.

Stevens Institute of Technology - MATLAB Access for Everyone

In order to download MATLAB, you must have a MathWorks account created with your university email address. Using the link above, there will be a "Sign in to get started" button to create an account, verify your email, and log in.

After creating an account and signing in, you will be directed to the "License Center" page, where you can download the installer for MATLAB and Simulink Products. Alternatively, you can choose to use MATLAB online.

If you choose to download the installer, you can choose the latest release version or any other version that works for your computer. Once the installer is downloaded, you can launch it and and sign in using the MathWorks account you created. You will be able to select the Stevens license you obtained and the destination folder for the products you wish to install.

By default, MATLAB will be the only product selected to be installed, but you can choose from over 100 products, which include various MATLAB and Simulink tools. You will be able to install your desired products.
