In Figuring out Future of Fintech, NSF Turns to Stevens
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has approved Stevens’ grant application allowing the School of Business to establish a research center in financial technology. Fintech is no longer just a concern for finance companies; businesses in every discipline are affected by the changes that data, analytics and machine learning have brought to the business world. The NSF center at Stevens will be called the Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC), and will challenge Stevens researchers to identify ways companies can solve more complex problems through the integration of new technologies.
Additionally, with finance being a popular destination for Stevens graduates, the IUCRC will complement the Hanlon Financial Systems Center. Home to two state-of-the-art financial analytics and data visualization labs, the HFSL supports education, research and thought leadership through the data revolution.
