We have officially reached the end of the competition after the fifth day of trading. We would first like to thank everyone who participated week in and week out - your hard work did not go unnoticed, and we hope all students were able to take something valuable away from this experience.
Taking first place this week in terms of P&L, we congratulate Stevens Quants once again, who secured first place for the second consecutive week. We would also like to recognize Team Four Sigma for achieving the highest Sharpe ratio.
With that, we are excited to announce the winner of HFTC 2026: The Bagholders from Rutgers University, with a total score of 560. Finishing in second place, after a strong rise in the standings over the past two weeks, is Stevens Quants with 460 points. Rounding out the top three is Team PumpNDump from Stony Brook University.
On Friday, May 8th, we will be hosting the Awards Ceremony at the Hanlon Lab at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to attend, and for those unable to join in person, a Zoom link will be provided. We look forward to celebrating the results and learning more about each team.
Once again, thank you to everyone involved - from participants to the SHIFT staff, led by Matthew Thomas. A special thank you as well to our advisor and director, Dr. Ionut Florescu, and to those who participated in interviews for our new series this year, Signal and Noise.
