# In Figuring out Future of Fintech, NSF Turns to Stevens

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has approved Stevens’ grant application allowing the School of Business to establish a research center in financial technology. Fintech is no longer just a concern for finance companies; businesses in every discipline are affected by the changes that data, analytics and machine learning have brought to the business world. The NSF center at Stevens will be called the **Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC)**, and will challenge Stevens researchers to identify ways companies can solve more complex problems through the integration of new technologies. 

Additionally, with finance being a popular destination for Stevens graduates, the IUCRC will complement the Hanlon Financial Systems Center. Home to two state-of-the-art financial analytics and data visualization labs, the HFSL supports education, research and thought leadership through the data revolution.
